National WASH in Healthcare Facilities Roadmap (2024-2028) Launched

NPHIL, in collaboration with WaterAid Liberia, launched the National WASH in Healthcare Facilities Roadmap (2024-2028) during a ceremony held on April 11, 2024, at the Corina Hotel in Sinkor.

The roadmap aims to enhance universal access to sustainable WASH services in healthcare facilities, elevate healthcare quality, reduce infections, and promote the well-being of patients, healthcare staff, and the wider community.

Emphasizing its significance, NPHIL’s Director-General, Hon. Jane A. Macauley, highlighted the roadmap’s potential to combat diseases, protect healthcare workers, and enhance patient care; sending a clarion call to all stakeholders to support the provision of adequate WASH services in healthcare facilities as it is paramount for mitigating the risk of healthcare-associated infections (HAls), combating Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), and curtailing the spread of various diseases.

Safeguarding health, together, we WASH away diseases!
