The National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL), established by the NPHIL Act of 2016 following the 2014–2016 Ebola outbreak, leads Liberia’s efforts to prevent, detect, and respond to public health threats. Working closely with the Ministry of Health and national and international partners, NPHIL strengthens disease surveillance, laboratory systems, emergency preparedness, and public health research to protect the health and well-being of all people in Liberia.
